Great set of repetitive but never dull compositions for (mainly) different clarinets with nods to minimalists Riley and Reich but most of all reminding me of John Surmans 'Withholding Pattern'.

There is a lot of fun on Hamza, and some of their heaviest moments that I am aware of. In fact this feels heavier and heavier each time I listen to it. I only wish more of that was incorporated into the most mellow songs on here, which, unlike in other releases, don't hold onto energy as well. But hey, I'm being picky and there are only two of those and I rarely know what I'm talking about! This is Lonker See so you know it's worth it.

The first track is a bit of an outlier, perhaps connecting back to earlier albums where jazz foundations lead the way, before going all out berserk with the beats, beats, and beats. Bass and electronics are now the mainstays over the hip-hop influenced rhythms. But the horns are still layered back in with style. I initially passed this over, but the Szlam / Ścieki tracks blew my socks off and in desperation for more, I was led back to this. I can't wait to see where Błoto go next.
